Get Ready for National Apprenticeships Week with ATL’s Union Learning Fund Apprenticeships Event, for teachers, parents, and anyone interested in vocational education in the City of Culture.

This exciting event will bring together expertise from the local area and ATL’s work on our apprenticeships project, to showcase and discuss careers advice, vocational opportunities, local economic and cultural regeneration, and what this means for the young people in our care.

We will be discussing the Siemens investment and opportunities, How to recognise a good apprenticeship scheme, creative and artistic vocational opportunities, equality and skills in vocational education and career choices, and much more! There will also be an opportunity for you to put your questions to an experienced panel of speakers.

Come along to find out all you wanted to know about vocational education exciting opportunities in and around the City of Hull!

Speakers will include:

  • Diana Johnson, MP for Hull North

  • Siemens PLC

  • Ian Read, Head of Education and Participation at City of Culture, Hull

  • Artlink Hull on creative opportunities

  • Unionlearn on Quality Apprenticeships

  • Toni Eastwood, MBE, on Apprenticeship Equality and Gender

  • Apprenticeship Ambassadors tell their stories

Parking is free at the venue, and lunch will be available from 12 noon onwards. The event itself will start promptly at 1pm, and finish no later than 3pm.

This is a free event, and is open to ATL members, non-members,teachers, and parents in the area of the City of Hull.

Miranda is a Union Learning Funded Project worker for ATL - the Association of Teachers and Lecturers, and has worked on this event as part of her project work in ATL's Northern region. From Hull herself, she cares deeply about the City, and the opportunities for the people of Hull.
